Looking forward to what’s to come and taking the journey with you. I give thanks to God for your life and your writing, both of which are graces of God
I'm a newbie, only having read "A Wild Christianity, and "The Cross and the Machine." I was struck by their, for lack of a better word, profundity. The American Church, whatever that is, needs to hear what you have to say. Blessings, Brother!
Paul, would you consider writing a sequel (or maybe even a series of letters) to "The Basilisk"?
That short piece of fiction is tremendous. I have used it annually in my small hedge school, and my students (boys between 11-17) have been very impacted by it. I would very much like to read further correspondence between Bridget and her uncle Richard.
Love your work, but a YouTube video is not a 'film'. Honestly I wouldn't know what to call it either though. I do like the look & feel of real film recorded on actual tape, that's long gone now though.
Sounds great. More and more I’m excited by writing which is itself a process of discovery. Looking forward to more writing about Christianity. In your interview with Bari Weiss you mentioned that your wife follows a different faith tradition? I’m curious how that works. I think I would like to be more actively Christian but I’m not sure how or if my family would follow me plus I have lots of self-doubt lol.
Last night the Book of Common Prayer gave me 2 Corinthians 4 which truly captures the feeling of adventurous hope in the face of certain disaster: "We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed".
You are doing great things, sir. I’ve joked about celebrating my 40th birthday by writing about the potholes in my city, naming my work “40 Unholy Wells.” Slightly less picturesque, each pothole similar to the last.

Excellent. Looking forward to it!
"Cracks are appearing in history" ... and in Reality, if I might add.
I know what you're saying, good doctor, but I'd want to say it like this: Cracks are appearing in non-reality, and reality is a-comin' back!!
... and right you are. Well put!
Agreed Graham 🙏
Sally forth and I’ll follow.
Looking forward to the next leg of your journey.
This all sounds excellent! I look forward to your new writings - as always - and the scriptorium book club as well. Godspeed and blessed lent.
Yeah, Paul, yeah!!!
Yeah!!!

Can't wait for the Scriptorium!

I was also curious about this. Would love to know more about how this works for you and her (but only if you and she are comfortable sharing). :)
Self doubt? As in you doubt yourself, or that you have lots of doubt about Christianity?
Mostly I doubt myself 🙃 But I guess I have trust issues with religion as well due to some bad experiences in my past and also in my family’s history.
I wish I could see a way forward; I just don’t right now.

Thank you for this!
Amén!🙏
So excited to see all that's coming from you in the future, Paul. I'm very grateful for your work on many fronts.
Sounds very promising, Paul -- looking forward to it!

Great things happening here! I’m Particularly excited about the “book club”.
